Loud events
What the audio suggests
Each loud event is also run through an audio classifier on the monitor, which gives its best guess at the source from a few seconds of sound. Vehicles under 10,000 lb (cars, SUVs, pickups and motorcycles) share one limit in Denver’s noise code; heavy-duty trucks and buses, 10,000 lb and over, have another. The classifier can’t reliably tell vehicle types apart, so every guess is approximate. Audio is analyzed on the monitor and never saved.
Every loud event: dBA vs. dBC
When loud events happen
When it happens — hour by day
Last 14 days, station local time. Darker columns are 10 pm to 6 am.
Loud events per day
Last 14 days, station local time. Older monitor software only recorded events at or above the dBA threshold, so days before a monitor was updated undercount Δ-only events.
Daily peak levels
Highest dBA and dBC each day. Days with no loud events have no point.
